Have friends who come from Alabama and they will not go back even to visit.

That's the way it's been my whole life.

Neil Young's '72 song is still pretty spot on, all these years later.

Oh Alabama
The devil fools with the best laid plan.
Swing low Alabama
You got spare change
You got to feel strange
And now the moment
is all that it meant.

Alabama, you got the weight on your shoulders
That's breaking your back.
Your Cadillac
has got a wheel in the ditch
And a wheel on the track

Oh Alabama
Banjos playing through the broken glass
Windows down in Alabama.
See the old folks
tied in white robes
Hear the banjo.
Don't it take you down home?

Alabama, you got the weight on your shoulders
That's breaking your back.
Your Cadillac
has got a wheel in the ditch
And a wheel on the track

Oh Alabama.
Can I see you and shake your hand.
Make friends down in Alabama.
I'm from a new land
I come to you and
see all this ruin
What are you doing
Alabama?
You got the rest of the union
to help you along
What's going wrong?

It's going to be real interesting to see how this race ends tomorrow. Honestly I see this as a win-win for the Democrats. If Jones wins it means they cut into the GOP majority and depending on what Collins does it could mean the end of tax reform. If Moore wins, Democrats will get to hang Moore over the necks of every Republican running in 2018. He becomes a walking TV ad and it increases the Democrats chances of taking back the House and Senate

More important than wether the Dems or the GOP, win,s , the real question is "How the american people could win ?"
Only if Collins wins and that vicious tax plan is defeated it would be a win for the people.
Unfortunately my guts tell me Moore is gonna be elected.

This is a two-year placeholder seat. If Jones wins, he's an immediate vulnerable red state democrat, and if Moore wins, the Senate can vote not to seat him and expel him, in which case the republican governor of Alabama appoints his replacement.

If Moore wins, after all the controversy he's been throught, the Senate cannot afford to vote not to seat him, GOP ssnators coudn't afford to vote him not to seat. The people of Alabama would be furious, they would tell the GOP's establishment is no different from the Democrats.
But if he seats, he would be a national embarassment, the democrats could use him in countless adds, it would bolster their claim that the GOP is waging a war against women.
And if Jones wins, that's one more seat for the Democrats, a thinner majority for the GOP and a defeat for Trump since he endorsed Moore.

Reminds me of a very old (about 25-30 years ago) vibro add in a french catalogue :

See, it's no sexual, it's just to relax tensions in the cheeks...
