"Parting is such sweet sorrow" and "absence makes the heart grow fonder" could both apply to this movie, or maybe - to be cruder - "sex is like air; you notice it when it's gone." When you're in love, 30 minutes seems like a lifetime. "The Long Goodbye" is a romantic tale of a sailor leaving his love behind, and the passionate letters they write about their steamy romantic love.
